Children's Church

Our desire is to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children so that all who come through our doors will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.  We serve Children's Breakfast every Sunday morning from 9:00 - 9:30 am in succession with adult ABF classes.

Sunday School is from 9:30-10:15 where children are taught the basics of the Word through age appropriate curriculum.

Children go to Praise & Worship with their parents in the sanctuary then are released for Children's church.  Sunday morning service consists of ice breakers, games, sermon, and guided play time.  Children are prayed with, taught in the Word, and ministered to weekly.

FRIENDS meets on Wednesday nights 6:30-8:00 pm   Children are bussed in from surrounding neighborhoods.  The Word is presented in a fun way where they rotate through various centers including arts & crafts, a Bible lesson, and enjoy a snack in the cafe'.

Events throughout the year include Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Kids Camp, Fall Festival, Christmas Program and other church-wide events.

Nursery and Preschool

We believe that from the earliest age children begin to experience the love of God through those around them. Our nursery is open to serve you and your child. We have classes that minister birth through kindergarten in a loving, safe environment.

Youth

Ignite meets on Sundays at 6:00pm and Wednesdays at 6:30pm  Our goal is to provide a supportive, Christ-centered environment where students can develop intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. It is our desire to see them become true disciples of Christ so that they may serve others and love God wholeheartedly. We have a worship band that is made up from teens in our youth group.

We attend an event in Tulsa every year in March called Acquire the
Fire, or ATF, along with about 6 thousand other teens. This is a 2
day event with great music from well know artists, drama, and powerful
speakers.

During spring break, we attend the ROAR conference that is held here
at ECC. This is a youth conference for IA youth groups. We hosted
close to 400 last year. This is a Friday night and all day Saturday event.

Summer camp is at Camp Bond in Tishamingo. Our camp speaker is Elijah
Tindall, a well know comedian and youth speaker. We also have music
from the Riders.

Tuesdays, during the school year, our students, and whoever would like
to join in, are bused to ECC. This is Called Yah-Day.

Our group has many other events throughout the year. We recently had
GUTS service, we have attended different functions at neighboring
churches. We also have movie nights, concerts, fall retreat,
Christmas parties, New Years Eve events, the annual turkey bowl, guest
speakers, and have even been enlightened by the famous Phil Stacey.

Women's Ministry
Our Women's Ministry provides various quarterly opportunities for women of all ages to build relationships and grow in Christ as wives, moms, sisters, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, nieces, friends - you name it! There is also a women’s Bible study that meets on Thursday mornings in the Family Life Center (FLC). Shawnee Aglow is a community ministry in Shawnee that our women’s ministry takes part in and supports.

Men’s Ministry
Real men love God! Our men’s group meets periodically to fellowship, share the Word and grow in maturity of the things of God. It is open to men of all ages and we encourage you to come and join us.  Our men also have a softball team that plays throughout the summer.  You can look up the game schedule and information at http://shawneechurchsoftball.com.

Worship Ministry
Our worship times are designed to be a vertical experience, a time to experience God one on one. You will find our music contemporary and relevant to this generation. As we worship together, our prayer is that you will sense God's presence in an atmosphere that accepts individual expression. Our worship is to focus on God and His presence among us. In Romans 12, Paul encourages believers to "present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service." Our desire is that we do that and our Lord be exalted among us. There are many ways to get involved: ECC Celebration Choir, Worship Team, Worship Band or Technical Support.

Ushers
Serve weekly in the main worship service to pass out bulletins, collect tithes and offerings, count the offering, and assist the church body as directed by the pastor.

Altar Workers
It is our heart to love and minister to the people that God sends to us. The Altar team receives and assists visitors and members to partake in the things of God as they respond to the unction of the Holy Spirit. They minister the Word with compassion and strength to encourage and heal those in need.

Communion Team
This do in remembrance of me until the son of man comes again… These servants prepare, attend to, and put away the communion elements for our monthly service.  Communion is normally the first Sunday of the month.

Children/Youth Volunteer Opportunities
Our youth and children’s departments are ready willing to accept your energetic and nurturing care of our babies, children and youth. There are opportunities to help in the nursery, as Sunday School Teachers, Youth Leaders, and  van drivers. All of these must submit to a background check first to insure the well-being of our children.

 Wednesday Adult Bible Study

This Bible Study is a great opportunity for new believers to gain a firm foundation in the Word, or for a mature believer to grow deeper in the Word.  They meet Wednesday Evening 6:30 in the Family Life Center during the youth and children's actives.

 Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF)
 ABF's
are communities within the church that meet Sunday mornings to fellowship, study the word, care for each other, serve in church as volunteers, and perform outreaches within the church and outside to the community.  Please visit our home page and click on Adult Bible Fellowship for details.
